Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescoping booms lifts are designed to mount a work bucket on a straight, extendable arm that is situated on a rotating turntable. Normally, telescoping boom lifts are used for tasks that require reaching at maximum height, exceeding other kinds of lifts. For example, employees could carry out exterior renovations or repairs on buildings of medium height but utilizing these lifts rather than having the additional work of setting up an outside elevator or a pulley system.
The boom lift is only designed to hold a single individual. These buckets are more suitable to specific jobs like electrical repair, as opposed to general maintenance or window washing. These lifts are available in gas or electric configurations and are offered with both indoor and outdoor tires.
Scissor Lifts
Under the scissor lifts work platform are the cross braces in which the machine gets its name. Once the braces move together it pushes the platform straight up. Because these kinds of equipment must be positioned directly beneath the work location, these units are way more limited in their use as opposed to boom lifts.
The scissor lift usually has a bigger platform that allows the operator to control the lift to access a bigger work area when the lift platform is raised off the ground. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of an issue with these models, because they should sit on flat ground in order to be utilized. Scissor lifts are great for being used for window installation or cladding, since they provide the workers with the desired mobility; they are also a great choice for exterior repairs or window cleaning applications.
Boom Trucks vs. Cranes
Bucket trucks, cherry pickers and boom trucks each refer to the class a type of utility vehicle used particularly for vertical work. Generally, these types of trucks have a cab. It is here where the operator sits and operates the equipment. There is a bucket for where the employee can stand in addition to an actuator arm for raising the boom and a winch for carrying.
Boom trucks take employees to heights which would normally be inaccessible. The function of cranes is to raise heavy supplies or equipment from one location to another. There are a variety of different crane types that could perform various purposes. Both of these different types of machines excel at different tasks and are great for specific applications and completing particular jobs.
