Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage places orderly and to pile up supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck could be used. The reach truck is available in several types: the stand-up reach, double-deep reach and straddle reach.
The stand-up is the simplest. The truck forks slide underneath the pallet and move it to the right storage place. The forks slide the pallet into position. This kind of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are just one pallet deep.
Ideal for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, that is similar to the stand-up, is frequently utilized. This version consists of telescopic forks designed to position the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when another pallet must go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the added advantage of being able to not just slide underneath the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units can be accessed in multiple directions. This particular model is ideal in situations where goods would not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Normally more than one type of reach truck is required within warehouses. Textile firms and manufacturing facilities use various kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to utilize and can maximize available storage space while increasing production.
