When there are accidents related to forklifts, both the business and the individual would suffer. There are a lot of reasons why employers must take steps to minimize the risk. One of the biggest reasons is to prevent risk of lawsuits if someone is injured. Secondly, mishaps cut down on working time. Thirdly, merchandise and property could be damaged during accidents. Most mishaps are attributed to workers who are not trained. Employers are responsible for making sure that all staff who are using the forklift are trained in safety and risks. Never let anyone on a forklift who isn't trained to operate the forklift. Your business must develop and post in a location that is visible all forklift safety procedures.
Instead of going through training because workers are required to, they should have a positive attitude in doing so. You as the employer should help employees understand the significance of proper training. Let them realize that they could injure or kill not just themselves, but other individuals, if they make mistakes. It is up to you to ensure that all your workers undertake training seriously.
