Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries during the year 1966, after he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" which was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This mechanism greatly impressed clients and therefore, the name was established.
Genie has moved into many new markets, because the demand for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, when the requirements for new equipment to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into manufacturing telehandlers, stick booms, man-lifts, articulated booms and light towers.
Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values as a result of the economic recession in the start of the 2000s, when they partnered together with Terex. This company has a history obtaining machine manufacturers across the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
During the early years after the sale, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, due to the name's solid reputation in the marketplace. Hence, all Genie machinery continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their customers. The company is dedicated to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also committed to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering exceptional support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machines.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC machinery are emission-free, quiet equipment capable of working in delicate work settings. Where the machine should be driven significant distances, like for instance within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator together with the benefits of a 48V DC machinery.
As opposed to any of the different types of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach overall. These equipment are ideal for limited access places in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These machines provide supreme traction and the drive speed you need to be able to travel around the work site and job area.
