Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They can run from LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for numerous applications. There are various facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which are able to be changed out when the equipment must be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must really be careful in order to prevent possible serious injuries. For example: be sure to put on the correct safety equipment like heavy gloves, goggles or safety glasses. Turn off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by using the hand.
